Bennett Graebner Executive Producer

Bennett Graebner, Executive Producer of The Bachelor, Makes More Connections with TLC’s Love at First Kiss. Bennett Graebner, the executive producer of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette television programs, popular on ABC, is premiering a new version of matchmaking: Love at First Kiss. Graebner characterizes the new show – set to air in August on TLC – as the speed-dating or jump-start version of the previous two.

Basically, the show starts with a kiss between two strangers and follows the play-out. Graebner finds insight in the format, which is that this first meeting can bridge the gap of prejudice in physical attraction or lack thereof. He and his team tend to pair people according to their interests and disposition, not necessarily looks, which can lead to unexpected results.

If both players pass the kiss test and choose to take the option, they go on an actual speed-date for two minutes where they find if the kiss was real or not. Each has the choice to discontinue at any point during the program. And while the producers work to make matches correctly, things don’t always turn out to plan (Ideamensch).

Graebner bought the idea from a program in Holland. He added some changes, including sticking with someone who seemed to click with the viewing crowd regardless of the on-screen fallout.

The fact that Love at First Kiss is something like a reality-based program doesn’t mean it does away with the same necessary tenets of storytelling that garner public interest in any case: beginning, middle and end with high stakes tested by conflict and tension. According to Bennett Graebner, the difference with reality programs is the need to get this same effect when participants might react unpredictably.

However, when the participants connect and the show works, the outcome is its own reward for Graebner.

Bennett Graebner graduated with an English Literature degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from Vassar College and from the cinematic arts school at the University of Southern California with a Master in Fine Arts degree. He is a veteran of the television set, having worked various posts from grip to cinematography. His shows have won awards at the Teen Choice and ASCAP Film and Television Awards. He lives in Southern California.

Alex Pall Explains How The Chainsmokers Are Changing The Electronic Music Landscape

The electronic music sector has become one of the fastest-growing in recent years with many new DJs and musical collaborations popping up across the music industry with pioneers such as Amici leading the way forward. Despite the success of these early DJ performers the path taken has often been a similar one with the DJ remaining hidden from view behind their booth until the arrival of The Chainsmokers as the leading electronic music pioneers in the U.S. with a growing band of followers across the world.

Alex Pall has not been satisfied with the opportunities presented to his band in remaining a faceless aspect of the electronic music scene like so many of his fellow DJs; instead, Pall and musical collaborator, Andrew Taggart have decided to take ownership of their music and image in many different ways and change the overall view of electronic music to the listeners of the world. In the view of both members of The Chainsmokers, the time has come for Dj like themselves to be seen as independent performers and musicians who should be seen as the authors of their own work.

In a break with the traditional view of DJs, both Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart have appeared on their songs as vocalists performing alongside some of the best-known singers of recent times. The Chainsmokers have broken with many traditions over recent years including stepping into the songwriting room and taking ownership of their own songs by co-writing and basing their songs on their own experiences.

Alex Pall has been at the heart of the process of changing the image and success rate of The Chainsmokers as he believes a higher level of creativity has allowed the duo to take far more pride in the work they have undertaken. As the success of the band grows, Pall is playing an even greater role in the development of the image of the duo as they continue to build towards global success.
